Circularity in the built environment: From measurement to policy and practice
Although a circular economy is one of the key solutions to the triple planetary crisis, our measurement and understanding of circularity in the built environment has been insufficient. This session will present three circularity recommendations of the 10 Whole Life Cycle Recommendations for the Buildings Breakthrough that define circularity in the built environment. We will also present relevant tools to measure circularity at the national and at the buildings level and shares practical examples of circularity at the buildings level from around the world.
Organisers: Ministry of the Environment Finland, with One Planet Network (OPN), Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction (GlobalABC), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT university)
