Leveraging postal networks across the reverse value chain for circular electronics management
How does a circular economy of electronics look – one that curbs waste, extends product lifespan and maximises utilisation of critical minerals and metals? This session introduces the transformation of the linear electronics supply chain into the “reverse value chain” model, closing the loop of the electronics life cycle. It pieces together innovative business models for repair, remanufacturing, refurbishment and recycling; and in doing so, it leverages reverse logistics infrastructure, geographical reach and technology solutions provided by postal operators.Crucially, this session elaborates on the long-term economic viability for all involved by outlining the business case specific to each stage of the reverse value chain.
Organisers: Universal Postal Union (UPU) with Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP), One Planet Network (UNEP), Circular Electronics Partnership (CEP), International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the WEEE Forum
